About this trip

Join us in California as the HOMEWOOD PATRIOT BAND performs in the 137th Rose Parade! 


Enjoy an amazing trip to Southern California.  From performing in the 137th Rose Parade and Bandfest to working on a float to two days of thrills at Disney – you’ll make memories to last a lifetime!

PACKAGE INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING: 

  

TRANSPORTATION

¯ Roundtrip commercial air transportation from Birmingham and Atlanta to Los Angeles. 

¯ Six deluxe motorcoaches in Los Angeles per itinerary. Motorcoaches stay with the band throughout the week (not just transfers). Drivers’ lodging has been included. Bus parking at the hotel has been included as well as bus driver gratuities


ACCOMMODATIONS

¯ Accommodation for five nights at the Los Angeles area hotel


MEALS

¯ Two meals per day beginning with dinner on Day One and ending with breakfast on Day Six, including special meals listed on the itinerary

Tour is based on a minimum of 300 traveling in the band (or 50 per motorcoach).

Payment Schedule

-  $150 per person at Registration (by February 10, 2025)

-  $300 per person by March 10, 2025 

-  $300 per person by April 10, 2025 

-  $300 per person by May 10, 2025

-  $300 per person by June 10, 2025 

-  $300 per person by July 10, 2025

-  $300 per person by August 10, 2025

-  $300 per person by September 10, 2025

-  $300 per person by October 10, 2025 

-  Trip balance due by November 10, 2025 (~$449)


Credit card payments will incur a 3% processing fee.  There are no processing fees if paying by Bank Transfer or mailing in a check.

Please make checks payable to Grueninger Music Tours. A $35 late fee will be charged for payments overdue. A $30 fee will apply for disputed credit card transactions on any previously authorized amount.  

Cancellation Policy

If you are unable to complete the tour due to a physical or mental inability to keep up with the group of participants, there shall be NO refunds owed.


Cancellation of travel must be made in writing to [email protected] and is effective from the date we receive the written notification. The date of the postmark is the date used to determine the amount of the cancellation fee.  All payments made prior to individual or group cancellation are NON-REFUNDABLE.  No refunds or credits will be issued for a cancelled participant.  

 

As described above, Grueninger Music Tours is required to pay all Suppliers well in advance of your trip date. This includes but is not limited to hotel accommodations, meals, tickets for attractions and events, transportation, etc. All Suppliers have their own cancellation policies, which apply to your booking, and it is your responsibility to acquaint yourself with said policies. Should a cancellation become necessary, please inform Grueninger Music Tours immediately in writing and request a written confirmation of your cancellation as stipulated above. Upon receipt, Grueninger Music Tours will follow industry procedures for any applicable refunds as outlined in the Supplier’s terms and subject to their review. If you are entitled to a refund, please note that the Supplier is responsible for this refund, not Grueninger Music Tours. Suppliers may choose to provide a travel voucher or credit in lieu of refund.  We are not responsible for a Supplier’s failure to pay a refund or for Supplier bankruptcy or insolvency.


In addition to any terms of our Suppliers, the following GMT cancellations charges will also apply.  Cancellation charges are based upon the estimated individual or group package cost and any NON-REFUNDABLE costs set forth by GMT for the purpose of acquiring Supplier services.

Individual Traveler Cancellation Schedule. Individual traveler cancellation charges are expressed as follows:


In the event an individual must cancel the following schedule will apply using the estimated individual package cost and any non-recoverable costs set forth by Grueninger for the purpose of acquiring vendor services:


In the event an individual cancellation is received from initial deposit to August 28, 2025, the individual will be charged 10% of the total trip cost in addition to any loss of airline seat value and/or any non-refundable costs set forth by GMT for the purpose of acquiring vendor services for the individual.


In the event an individual cancellation is received August 29, 2025 to September 28, 2025, the individual will be charged 20% of the total trip cost in addition to any loss of airline seat value and/or any non-refundable costs set forth by GMT for the purpose of acquiring vendor services for the individual.


In the event an individual cancellation is received September 29, 2025 – October 28, 2025, the individual will be charged 50% of the total trip cost, in addition to any loss of airline seat value and/or any non-refundable costs set forth by GMT for the purpose of acquiring vendor services for the individual.


In the event an individual cancellation is received October 29, 2025 – November 28, 2025, the individual will be charged 75% of the total trip cost, in addition to any loss of airline seat value and/or any non-refundable costs set forth by GMT for the purpose of acquiring vendor services for the individual.


There is no refund for an individual cancellation after November 28 , 2025. Note: GMT must receive written notice of all cancellations and changes. Emails should be sent to [email protected]


If the reason for cancellation is covered under the terms of your travel protection plan you may be able to reclaim these charges, for this reason we strongly encourage the purchase of a travel protection plan including additional Cancel For Any Reason coverage.


Airline tickets are governed by the air carriers’ terms, and we are not responsible for any air carrier’s decision regarding refunds.

Grueninger Music Tours strongly recommends that participants purchase a travel protection plan. 


To help protect your investment of travel and to help protect yourself while you are away, consider purchasing travel protection from Travel Insured International. These protection plans include pre-departure benefits such as Trip Cancellation and post-departure benefits such as Accident & Sickness Medical, Baggage/Baggage Delay, Evacuation, Missed Connection, Trip Delay and Trip Interruption. In addition, plans include 24/7 Emergency Assistance Services that are provided by an independent organization, and not by United States Fire Insurance Company or Travel Insured International.

Very poor communication.

We had a great time watching the band at the USS Missouri, this is something we will never forget! Watching our school band in the parade was also amazing! We have been to Hawaii 3 other times so we were already familiar with this area. The hotel stay was nice, as well as all of the staff. Paul our "guide" was very entertaining. We always enjoy going to Germains Luea. We were disappointed that enough time was not allocated to being able to visit the USS Arizona. This is a key point in history that time should have been scheduled for. A lot of people were shocked that this was not going to happen. While it was nice going to Pearl Harbor. This would have been nice to see.

We had a wonderful guide who was friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate to share his Oahu with us. The communication about details regarding the schedule was lacking. A simple finalized schedule with meeting places and times would have been appreciated and helpful, especially about good spots to view the parade and the USS Missouri performance we came to see our children in. Overall, it was a profoundly beautiful and meaningful trip that I will always treasure.

First, I’ll note that there was a lot of good on our trip. The sights were beautiful, and we got a nice intro to many Hawaiian attractions. Our accommodations were nice and worked well for our group. However, there were some clear failures in planning. Our larger group was split into nonsensical subsets that slowed down our airport check-ins on departure and return. Groups that were not traveling together or on the same buses were listed together, which slowed down the airline’s processing of our boarding passes and luggage. As a result, we arrived at our gate late (after boarding had begun) on both flights. On our return flight, our GMT guide left on his own flight before our group even made it to security. On one excursion, 40 kids were left on the side of the road without a bus for an hour. Our visit to Pearl Harbor was scheduled in such a way that we did not have time or an opportunity to visit the USS Arizona memorial (the main, iconic memorial to more than 1,000 soldiers). The Arizona memorial visit had been promised on our itinerary and were not made aware of this discrepancy until the night before. On a separate overcomplicated bus tour, we tried to squeeze in so many stops that we barely had time to see the attractions before we had to return to the bus. Our “tour” of the Dole plantation consisted of a visit to the gift shop. Another night, our guide failed to confirm our group’s dinner reservation. This was still a highly enjoyable trip and a wonderful opportunity to see the beach, participate in a parade, and otherwise visit Hawaii. But improvements on GMT’s part could have made it even better and smoother.

Oahu and all we encountered were amazing and lead to a great experience while on the island. Our Tour Guide Paul was absolutely AMAZING and no doubt Oahu's greatest asset! He was very knowledgeable and patient with our group and had a great knowledge of the history and culture in Hawaii. The way he got all the students involved in singing Pearly Shells was priceless! Leaving Paul on the last day felt like we were leaving a very cherished family member behind... He was amazing, sweet and very thoughtful... I'm sure he is one of GMT's most cherished employees as well! 💕
